RECORDING, MIXING, AND MASTERING

Have some songs you’d like to record?

When you record with Eat These, there are multiple ways to go about it! My equipment is able to pack up and move as one unit, so if you’d like to record at your space or come to mine, both are options. Please note that my space is smaller than most, but can get the job done.

In the past 5+ years, I have mainly been recording myself and the projects that I play in to get more acquainted with the entire recording process. I am originally a drummer, but my audio journey starts with recording covers on a digital mixer, using a kick and room mic. I didn’t know anything about compression, gainstaging, or EQ; all that mattered was that it was me coming back through the microphones when I’d listen back. How cool is that!!

Not only am I looking to capture your vision,

but to recreate the experience as a whole.

The projects I have worked on in the past vary from soft indie rock to death metal, though I am open to recording any type of genre or music. I am most fluent in anything under the Rock category, but if you’ve got songs ready to record, I would be more than happy to talk more and set up a session.

My rates start at $150 a song for recording and mixing. If you want to record a full release, I am happy to talk and work within budget.

VIRTUAL DRUMMER

Do you need a studio drummer that can play to a click,

maybe shows up on time, isn’t wasted 24/7, and can

record quality tracks for your project?

Well, lucky for you….

the search is over!

I have constant access to my fully mic’d acoustic drum kit, and I record a “check-in” video nearly every week featuring a one-take drum cover of a song, with my most current drum processing on it. The fastest and easiest way to see these is through my drum archive on YouTube, linked below.

YouTube playlist containing every drum related video on my channel.

I am more than comfortable recording any genre. I shine in the Rock genre as a whole, from alternative to hardcore punk. I play all different styles and have for many years, including jazz, funk, country, pop, metal, rock, and punk.

If you would like me to record and “virtually” drum for your project, my rates start at $50 a song.

If this is something you are interested in, please contact me, and we can discuss further details.

DRUM DETAILING & CYMBAL CLEANING

If you couldn’t tell by now, I am a drummer at heart. It is the instrument I know most about. One thing I truly love about drums is the amount of creativity and personality that comes with each different player. One thing we all have in common, gigging or not, is that they get dirty very quickly.

It is some of the most tedious work that comes with the drums, but I am here to offer a few different ways to clean them up and get them looking and sounding great!

Below are all the different tiers that are offered. Standard reheads come with unstamped 2-ply dfd heads, unless provided otherwise.

tier 1

Basic drum upkeep. Snare re-head, and cymbal clean-up. In car terms, an oil change.

The snare re-head sounds like what you think. Offers a re-head of your batter and resonant side head, cleanup, and standard maintenance on the drum. An option of clear or coated heads, tuning of your choice from a punchy thwack to a resonant crack.

A down payment of $50 will include all of the above and is the basic version of the “makeover”.

SNARE re-head

Cymbals are hands down the shiniest, most valuable part of the drums. You want it to shine like you just paid another $400 for a brand new cymbal, except this time it is simply $25! Cleaning, shining, and crack analysis is what this provides.

Cleaning starts at $25 per cymbal.

tier 1i

Slightly inconvenient drum upkeep. Complete snare makeovers, cymbal revive, batter only. Not quite the real deal, but you are taking care of your instrument. Yay!

The snare makeover completely replaces all of the standard components of the drum, hence the makeover. New heads on batter and resonant sides, new snare wires and strands, included polishing and cleanup. Remember when you first got it? It’ll be that great day all over again.

The snare makeover is $80.

cymbal revive

The worst day is when your favorite cymbal starts to get that little crack on one of the edges. Some may retire that cymbal, while others may continue to play. Cymbal Revive will restore what once was, without the quick decay of a cracked cymbal. Using a Dremel, the invasive crack will be cut and rounded out.

Starting at $40 per cymbal.

If you are looking to get that fresh sound of new heads but don’t want to go all in, look no further! Batter Only replaces only the batter head on all of your drums, kick, and snare included. A standard shell cleaning, lug polishing, and inspection is also included in this package.

Batter Only starts at $100

Batter Only is intended and priced for a four-piece kit, including kick, snare, rack tom, and floor tom. Additional drums are $20 per drum.

tier 1ii

This is the final tier before Complete Makeover. Included are snare wraps, twice is nice, and shiny stands. Now lets get down to the nitty-gritty.

I have custom-wrapped several snares over the years using methods that are far from traditional wraps, though it has worked on both wood and steel shells. Try adding a classic Sticker-bomb, hydro-dip, or candy wrappers snare to your arsenal. This includes wrapping the shell and all components from the previously mentioned Snare Makeover.

Snare Wraps start at $200

Whether you’ve bought used or have put some hours into your drums, new heads will make all the difference on any pair of shells. Twice is Nice replaces all of your batter and resonant heads. Cleaning, polishing, inspecting, and maintenance are also included. Whole kit tuning is also provided.

Twice is Nice starts at $250.

Twice is Nice is intended and priced for a four-piece kit. Additional drums are $40.

Shiny Stands is a complete polishing, cleaning, and upkeep of your stands. Shiny, metallic stands are another piece of your spatial puzzle that will make your kit also shine, whether it’s meant to or not. New felts, wingnuts, and sleeves on each stand will ensure your cymbals stay in the best condition they can while being whipped around.

Shiny Stands starts at $120.

Shiny Stands is intended and priced for four stands. Snare stand, two cymbal stands, and hi-hat. Additional stands are $30 per.

tier 1V

This is the Complete Makeover. Twice as Nice, Snare Makeover, Shiny Stands, and Cymbal Cleaning are all included.

Complete makeover

As stated, and you could probably guess, the complete makeover includes quite literally everything you could think of when completely cleaning a drum set. A clean, shiny, concise set of drums is the end goal. Included is a complete head change, lug polishing, shell inspection and maintenance on all drums, a snare makeover including new wires and straps, cymbal cleaning and polishing, and hardware and stands will be brighter and smoother than ever. Included in the Complete Makeover is Eat These Insurance! If any piece of your kit fails or breaks after the first three months, it will be repaired for free!

The Complete Makeover starts at $600.

The Complete Makeover is intended and priced for a four-piece kit. Kick pedals, hi-hat stand, two crash stands, snare stand, four cymbals, snare drum, kick drum, rack tom, and floor tom.

Additional drums start at $30, stands and cymbals $20.

SCREENPRINTING

Included in this drum-heavy services page is one color screen printing.

The current limit is one color, as I do not have a machine or the space for an entire rotating press.

Why don’t I go somewhere else then?

For anything very high in detail, multicolored, or for the sake of bulk, you will probably want to do that.

Locally, I suggest the Empress or Black Out screenprinting.

If you are looking for a simple, straightforward shirt print, I can happily do that for you. As stated, only one color, though. The most popular/common would be white print on black.
